Course of epilation treatment at Arcadia Clinic

Before starting a series of epilation treatments:

– Do not sunbathe or use bronzing cosmetics in the area to be treated for a minimum of 3 weeks prior to treatment

– For a minimum of 7 days before the treatment, one should refrain from exfoliating products and products or cosmetics containing retinol, isotretinoin, fruit acids and vitamin C

– One month before the treatment, do not use any herbs or supplements containing: St. John’s wort, calendula, pansy, horsetail, nettle, chamomile, lemon balm, mint, lovage or caraway

Immediately prior to treatment:

– The day before treatment, hair should be removed at the treatment site using a razor. The use of mechanical or chemical methods is not recommended

– On the day of treatment, do not use cosmetics that may cause local skin irritation, such as: cream, deodorant, antiperspirant or lotion

– If the skin in the area where epilation will be carried out is dry or irritated, take care to moisturise it a few days before the procedure, e.g. with soothing creams or ointments that do not contain any photosensitising ingredients

A head equipped with a laser diode with an optical power of 400W and a light length of 808nm is attached to the treatment area. The head incorporates the Contact Cooling System function, which cools the treatment area at 1°C, making the treatment comfortable.

The light beam reaches the hair bulb, where it is absorbed by melanin. During this process, thermal energy is generated, which irreversibly destroys the bulb through selective photothermolysis. The beam emitted by the laser is completely safe and only penetrates up to 2 mm into the skin. The treatment has no effect on the functioning of the body.
